The Philosophy of AI with Impact
A measurable, considered and durable contribution to the businesses and societies we work in. What we believe about building AI, and what we refuse to build.
How Much Is AI Actually Delivering for Your Company?
If you're like most leaders we speak with, you're weighing enormous AI hype against thin real-world results.
You've watched proofs of concept that never shipped. You've sat in meetings where someone presented an AI strategy without saying what the AI was for. You've signed off budgets that produced demos but didn't move a single number. You've heard the word "transformation" until it stopped meaning anything.
Meanwhile the noise gets louder. Every conference is about AI. Every consultancy claims to be AI-first. Every vendor has rebranded.
The promise: AI will change everything. The reality for most companies in 2026: it changes very little, very expensively.
Why We Wrote This Down
We've been building digital products for European companies since 2013. For most of those years we worked the way our industry told us to: ship fast, iterate, optimise, ship more. We tried to do good work. We mostly did.
Then AI arrived as the next big thing, and we watched a pattern we'd seen before, only louder. New technology treated as automatic value. A rush to spend before anyone had asked the harder questions.
We refuse to keep working that way. So we did what we did once before, when we wrote down our philosophy of conscious digital products. We sat down and wrote what we actually believe. About AI. About how it should be built, bought and lived with. About what it can do for the European companies we work with, and what it should never do to them.
We call it AI with impact: a measurable, considered and durable contribution to the businesses and societies we work in.
What We Mean by AI with Impact
Impactful AI proves itself when teams can build safely and the company stays in full control of the investment. We recognise it by six dimensions. They guide every piece of AI work we recommend, build and operate with our clients.
Foundation
Cost
Sovereignty
Discipline
Structure
Judgment
What does it take to do this work?
AI with impact is a posture rather than a method: a way of approaching every decision in an AI engagement.

InterdisciplinaryNo single department can build AI well. Strategy, engineering, and customer focus must work as one. You get a unified team with the right skills to build a solution which gets adopted.

HonestyAI projects often fail when people pretend a PoC is a finished system. We choose pragmatism instead. You get an honest view of what the technology can do right now so you can invest your budget safely.

The long-term viewWe never build something just to finish a contract. You get a solution that reduces your dependence on others and a sustainable system your team can confidently carry forward.
Where This Fits, and Where It Goes
We don't claim to be inventing something new here.
The questions we're asking – about cost, sovereignty, responsibility and what AI is for – are being asked by other thoughtful people across our industry. The Center for AI Safety raises one set of them. The Distributed AI Research Institute raises another. The European Union, with the AI Act, a third. The Conscious Capitalism movement and our own philosophy of conscious digital products each contribute their piece. We share thinking with all of them and claim no originality.
What we do claim is a place in the conversation. For people like us, digital consultants, designers, engineers and product owners, this debate is practical, not theoretical. Every day we make small decisions that, in aggregate, shape the AI products, platforms and adoptions that mid-sized European companies will run their next decade on. The philosophy of AI with impact describes what those decisions should add up to.
We use it as the foundation for our own work. We invite you to do the same. Because there's no time left for AI theatre.
